Witchbrook: release date delayed to 2026 by Chucklefish

Witchbrook is currently scheduled for 2026, but it does not yet have a precise release date. As of October 27, 2026, the magic-themed life simulator developed by Chucklefish is still in development, and no specific day or month has been announced for launch.

Previously, the winter window of 2025 had been indicated. However, on October 15, 2025, a delay to 2026 was announced, motivated by the desire to dedicate more time to creating a rich, immersive, and dynamic world. This postponement is official; further confirmation will be required for a specific date within 2026.

Witchbrook: why it matters

The update of September 10, 2026, described the final phase of an internal testing cycle, with interventions on identified issues, graphical refinements, and error corrections. Localization and conversion activities for consoles were proceeding in parallel. These are concrete signs of progress, but they do not guarantee the imminence of the launch.

The developers have clarified that the release date will be communicated only when there is sufficient certainty, taking into account possible technical unforeseen events and the procedures required by different platforms.

What we know

Development is managed by Chucklefish and Robotality. Witchbrook combines life simulation elements with social mechanics typical of role-playing games, set in the pixel art coastal city of Mossport and centered on a magic college. Both single-player mode and online co-op for up to four players have been confirmed.

In-game activities include lessons, assignments, exams, learning magical skills, interactions with residents, and developing romantic relationships. Outside the college, it will be possible to customize a house with a garden, gather resources, and sell artisanal products. Residents will follow daily routines, and the city environment will change based on the seasons.

Availability in Italy

Witchbrook is announced for PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S). The game already has a dedicated page on Xbox even in the Italian market. A PlayStation version is not currently planned.

Regarding the Italian language, it does not appear among the ten supported languages indicated for the Steam version (English, French, German, Spanish, Korean, and Russian). The presence of translated commercial descriptions does not automatically imply the availability of game texts in Italian. Italian localization is a distinct aspect from the simple availability of the game in the Italian market and would require a specific announcement to be confirmed.
