Copilot+ PC branding dropped. The name Copilot+ PC is gradually disappearing from the communications of Microsoft and its hardware partners, just over two years after the initial launch.

Kedar Kondap, senior vice president of compute at Qualcomm, added that the goal was to create a product class with well-defined parameters, such as an NPU with 45 TOPS. In practice, the same features remain available “probably without further using that terminology.”
The minimum threshold for accessing exclusive functions remains unchanged: an NPU with performance exceeding 40 TOPS is required, along with at least 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space, in addition to Windows 11 security requirements such as the Microsoft Pluton processor. These characteristics enable features like Recall (which captures screenshots to allow content search via natural language), Click to Do (to summarize, rewrite, or remove elements from images and texts on screen), semantic search within the system, real-time subtitles with translation from over 40 languages, Windows Studio Effects video and audio effects, and creative tools such as Cocreator in Paint.
However, Recall raised some concerns among security researchers, leading Microsoft to postpone its launch and enable it only in April 2025 with database encryption and a disable option.
What changes and what are the effects
NVIDIA has also chosen not to use the Copilot+ PC label for the RTX Spark platform, despite meeting its parameters. The Copilot+ PC category is therefore “dead” in the sense that the name is no longer used, but the features integrated into Windows will continue to be present.
Simply put, modern hardware now meets the minimum requirements for certification (and it is unlikely that chips with NPUs below 40 TOPS will be seen), making it redundant to identify which PCs are Copilot+ and which are not, given that they all are.
